Richard McDorman’s Translation of Alonfsina Storni’s “Yo en el fondo del mar” Inspires Orchestral Composition

I am pleased to announce that the Orchestra of St. Luke’s in New York City chose to use my translation of Alonfsina Storni’s “Yo en el fondo del mar” (“Me at the Bottom of the Sea”) in the Orchestra’s Carnegie Hall performance of Beethoven’s “Emperor” with Denk. The program includes a piece by American composer Bryce Dessner, specifically a setting of four poems by Alfonsina Storni.

The official program for the performance can be found here, with my translation appearing on page 26C of the program. I would like to publicly thank the Orchestra for inviting me to the debut performance in which my translation was used.
